“ What a yummy bbq place! I have lived here for a couple of years and have never been till today! We came here with a few friends and got a few items! I will be coming back to try other items next time! The service was fast and great! The line was pretty quick, we were in the line for about 8 minutes! The burnt ends were very tasty as was the corn casserole. The wings were somewhat salty and would have been perfect with sweet sauce I would have been stunned. We were all stunned by the food and how tasty it was! We left spending $52 for some delicious BBQ! Parking was tricky but we also came at a busy time. The sandwich was good as well, the fries were super tasty as was the new chicken sandwich they were featuring! We sat outside because it was a perfect day! Next time I would love to try their potato salad and another cut of meat! ”
“ you're looking for top-tier Texas BBQ without the long lines and hype of some of Austin's more "famous" spots, Stiles Switch BBQ & Brew is the place to go. The food is absolutely phenomenal--rich, smoky, and packed with flavor. The chopped beef and brisket are must-tries, tender and delicious. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and the portions don't disappoint. The service is fantastic, with a friendly and efficient staff that keeps things moving without making you feel rushed. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal without the stress of an hours-long wait. Highly recommend for a great meal in Austin off the beaten path. ”
“ Stiles is an impressive bbq place hosting big flavors and juicy meats. The restaurant brings great Texas bbq vibes, the staff is extra helpful, and the food packs a big punch. I would especially recommend the sausage and the beef rib. Both were extremely tender and flavorful. If you're looking for a classic bbq meal, look no further than Stiles! ”
“ I ordered delivery yesterday, and the packaging was solid--everything arrived intact and warm. I went with the 3-meat plate, which includes three types of meat ( pound each), two sides, and two slices of bread. Although delivered some great BBQ, but not everything hit the mark. The brisket and turkey were the clear winners, while the chopped brisket was a letdown. The corn casserole was a pleasant surprise, and the cole slaw was just okay. What I ordered: Beef Brisket - 4.5/5 This was easily the best part of the meal. The brisket was incredibly moist, tender, and packed with smoky flavor. The fat was well-rendered, and every bite had a great balance of seasoning and smoke. Would definitely order this again. But not one of the best brisket I had in Austin. Chopped Beef Brisket - 2/5 A disappointment. It was overly salty and greasy, which made it hard to enjoy. The seasoning was too strong, and I found myself reaching for the sides to balance out the saltiness. I'd stick with the regular brisket instead. Smoked Turkey Breast - 4.5/5 Surprisingly good. The turkey was juicy, not dry at all, and the seasoning was spot on. It had a nice smoky depth without overpowering the meat itself. A solid option if you want something lighter than brisket. So far the best turkey I had in Austin in BBQ places. Corn Casserole - 5/5 This was more of a sweet, rich corn pudding than a traditional casserole, but it worked. It had a soft, creamy texture and a buttery sweetness that contrasted well with the smoky meats. It leaned more towards a dessert for me, but I still enjoyed it. Switch House Coleslaw - 3.5/5 Pretty standard. It was fresh and crunchy, but nothing particularly memorable. A decent option if you want something to cut through the richness of the meats. Would I return? Yes, but I'd stick to the sliced brisket and turkey. ”
“ - Vibes: family friendly, festive, homey - Crowd: reasonable on a Thurs night - Menu: typical selection for a bbq place - Value for price: 4/5 (a bit pricey but good taste for the price) - Service: very quick/friendly! - Parking: plenty Came here on a Thursday around 7pm with a friend and was delighted by the festive decor (it was Jan 3) and the coziness of the cabin-style sitting area. The servers were very welcoming and since it was my first time, they let me sample whichever meats I wanted. I ended up getting a 1-meat platter which came with 3 slices of brisket and two sides. The size was good for a woman but if you have a bigger appetite I'd get more than 1 meat :) The beef brisket was tender and flavorful- I won't say it was as melty as the beef I've had from Franklin's but it was good as far as Austin bbq goes! My favorite item was the potato salad (thick and creamy with lots of dill), which I enjoyed with their house made sauces at the table. They also gave me as many pickles as I wanted which is an easy way to win me over... I'd definitely recommend this as a place to take someone who wants to try Austin bbq without the crazy crowds. ”
“ Great alternative BBQ option if you are frustrated by the long lines from Terry Black's and Franklin BBQ. There was no line on Sunday at lunch time when we arrived and service was instant. Prices are very fair for the amount of food you get on a platter. We went for the 3 meat + 2 sides platter, added an additional side, and the server gave us a free portion of one side to taste. Here are the meats and sides in order of preference below. Meats: - Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage: I'm just as surprised as you are that the sausage made it at the top of my meats list, but here we are. The sausage was juicy and flavored perfectly. The jalapeño cheddar kind is a must! - Beef Brisket: had to make it to at least the middle of the pack. It was seasoned nicely and worked well with the provided bbq sauces. It wasn't the juiciest brisket I have had, definitely not the melting in your mouth kind, but was not dry either. - Pork ribs: was a bit underwhelming to be honest. You really get two very thin ribs and are working to scrape the measly amount of meat from the bones. I generally love ribs, but if we only got these ribs as our choice for the 3 meats, we would have left severely hungry. Sides: - Glazed Brussels Sprouts: this side stole the show as the best thing I tasted on the entire platter. It was perfectly sweet from the sauce, salty, and crispy. I was sad to be sharing this side with others since I wanted it all for myself. - Mac & cheese: very cheesy and creamy shells that cut the grease of the meat; worked well with its more liquid texture. - Cole slaw: nice reliable option for a side. Nothing mind blowing but creamy and crunchy, working well to complement the meat and the other sides. - Potato Salad: a classic option, not bad by any means, but was the most underwhelming side out of the ones we tasted. It is quite thick if you come hungry looking for a filling side. You get some pickles, fresh onions, pickled jalapeños (if you ask), and bread on the side, which are all great additions to the plate. The bread was okay, nothing to write home about, but the pickled items were delicious. ”
“ We ordered the holiday special smoked tomahawk on 12/20. Luckily we called ahead to know they were running "low" and walked out with the second to last order on a Friday afternoon. We reheated it in the oven at 250F as instructed, and it was perfection!!! Big enough for 2 and makes for a wonderful holiday treat! ”
“ We wanted some good BBQ while in Austin and didn't want to deal with the craziness of Terry Blacks, after some suggestions and research, we landed on Stiles Switch. We stopped in on a Saturday around 2:15 PM, there was maybe a line inside of about 5 people, so it was a very short wait. I ordered a two meat and two side plate, I wanted to a little variety. I choose beef brisket and smoked turkey breast as my meats, and Corn Casserole and Serrano Glazed Brussel Sprouts as my sides. I elected for the complimentary onions, pickles, and white bread slices. They had a nice selection beer, but I had no idea what I wanted. Luckily there was person behind the counter who pretty much played beer match maker, and he was spot on. I thought all of the food was delicious and worth the price. The meats were moist and full of flavor. The sprouts had a nice little sweet heat to them, and the casserole was wonderful. The sauces they have on the table are not needed for the BBQ, but they do taste great and pair nicely with the BBQ. I would stop back in next time I was in town and would for sure recommend Stile Switch, ”
